Interior Doors With Glass

There’s something special about interior doors with glass, and I’m not sure exactly what it is…but they seem to add a touch of elegance to any room in your house. With prices coming down in recent years, now may be the time for you to outfit the rooms in your house with these beautiful doors.

On this page I’m going to talk about some of the many options you have in this area, and I’m going to touch on prices when I can as well as decorative options as well as what you can expect from the start when you first pick out the door that’s right for you, all the way till the finish when your new door is smartly installed into place.

What are your options? these days there are so many options when it comes to these types of doors that it’s almost impossible to know where to start! I find that people seem to lump these sorts of doors into three main categories, namely; french doors with glass panels, all glass doors (with maybe a small frame of wood), and mostly wooden doors with some sort of glass paneling at the top (or maybe leaded or stained glass).

French Doors With Glass if this is what you had in mind then I will spend a minute or two right here talking about these specific doors. French doors accentuate any room immediately. It’s their natural beautiful construction that stands out from any other door. They increase the brightness of a room and make it feel more breezy and open almost immediately. Plus they give you the option to paint the glass, or stain the glass to fit your exact decorating needs and can be used in any sort of wood framed door that you might want.

All Glass Doors Are Less Common: these doors tend to be used mainly in businesses and offices and less in the house and home. Though if you have an ultra modern house, then this may be the exact door for you! One downside of these particular doors that we find people complaining about is the smudging. People just don’t use door handles as much as you would think and so you get a lot of smudging on the actual glass for these doors. This means that you have to be very vigilant about keeping them clean unless you want them to look scuzzy for everyone. Of course, who has the time to clean these days?

Wood doors with glass panels this is by and large the most popular way to integrate glass panels into interior doors. Though technically you might still call these french doors (depending on the amount of glass involved) we would not call them that. There are an almost endless supply of options when it comes to this type of door and you should check with your door supplier to see their catalog. Another option is to have your door custom made to your exact specifications. While this is always going to be more expensive than a ready made option, you might be surprised at just how inexpensive it can be in certain circumstances.

No matter what you finally choose to do in your home one thing is for sure, interior doors with glass are something that you will be extremely happy with and something that will bring you many many years of joy and beauty and also raise the value of your home immediately.
